If you have received a letter from Perane & Co, it’s because we believe you could be a possible beneficiary to an estate we are researching. Once you get in touch, we can confirm if you are the correct beneficiary of the relevant estate.
We use many sources of information to identify beneficiaries, including birth indexes, marriage, death, and census records. From this information, we can assess whether you are eligible for a portion of an estate.
The next step is to call us for more information, and where possible, to arrange an in-depth visit. If you’ve received a letter, please contact us on 01603 673260
We believe in face-to-face service, so after the initial phone call, we like to come and visit you. During this meeting we will go through your family tree, discuss the process in more detail and see if you would like to move forward. If you do, we ask you to sign our no-win, no-fee agreement forms. If you are uncomfortable with a face-to-face visit, we can send you the documents by post.
We are an open and transparent company and will always explain how our service is paid for. We charge a commission that is paid out of the estate, meaning you won’t need to pay anything out of your own pocket at any point. You are not liable for any costs if the claim is unsuccessful. We will make clear your charges for any services that we perform.
If you’ve been identified and confirmed as a beneficiary, you will be in line to receive some money from a relative. The windfall could be anything from £100 to £1M, and because our commission is paid out of the estate, you won’t have to pay a penny.
Legacy location and distribution can take time as we have to find and contact all of the entitled beneficiaries to an estate. This can take anything from six months to a year. This rigorous process will ensure that all the beneficiaries receive the money they are entitled to under the law.
